The Mediterranean Sea is somewhat open (Strait of Gibraltar and Suez Canal) and yes, in Mallorca and the waters around us there are also sharks. Some species come occasionally and others have their whole life cycle around here, but in general they have no interest in humans and do not represent any danger.
