What size laces do I need for my roller skates?
The high top, boot skate or heeled skate generally take 96″ laces. The Bauer or roller hockey skate generally take 108″ or 120″ laces. The higher cut Antik skates usually take between a 96″ to 108″.
Do I need 7mm or 8mm bearings?
Those refer to the inner diameter of the bearing and the size of the axle its going on. Most of the new skates use 8mm axles so the standard 8mm bearings would be needed. The older models, and high end skates use 7mm axles so they would need the 7mm bearings.
How do I know what size my bearings are?
To measure the outer diameter of a bearing, place the jaws of your vernier caliper around the outside of the bearing and close it until it meets the outer edge of the bearing. It should be a snug fit, but not tight. Now, you can read the value on the caliper to find the outer diameter measurement.
How often should you replace roller skate bearings?

When: Depends on several factors, but usually every 1-3 months. Why? Skate bearings help your wheels roll freely, but the more you skate, the more debris gets stuck in the bearings and causes friction—the opposite of what you want!
How do I loosen my roller skates without a tool?

Do all toe stops the same size?
Fixed or “bolt on” toe stops can come in different shapes and sizes and in many colors. They are always made with a small hole in the center where a bolt or screw is inserted to connect directly to the plate. This hole goes all the way through the bolt on toe stop.
Can you skate without toe stops?
Toe stops are useful for total beginners to help climb out of bowls. But once that is not a concern, they really aren’t necessary. At this level of being a novice skater, you should be focusing really hard on being completely comfortable with and mastering your pumping and stalling technique.
Can you jam skate with toe stops?
If you are looking to jam or park skate, I definitely recommend adjustable toe stops! Fixed toe stops are bolted on with a screw so you can’t play around with how far you want your toe stop from the ground.
Do Impalas run small?
Our skates typically run true to size. We recommend you stick with the US women’s sizing to be accurate. However, if you’re a half size, we recommend sizing up. If for some reason, they don’t work out, our exchange process is fairly easy.
Should roller skates be tight or loose?
The fit itself should be very snug, allowing you to stay in control of movements. Very snug doesn’t mean uncomfortable: You should still be able to wiggle your toes, and there shouldn’t be any pressure points. Find the right fit.
Can men wear Impala skates?
Impala Skates are gender-neutral. Size selection is based on women’s sizes. To convert to Men’s, go up two full sizes.
